Morales Holistic Health Center Introduce
For individuals in Downey and the surrounding Los Angeles County area seeking chiropractic care, choosing the right provider is a crucial decision that impacts your health and overall experience. When considering Morales Holistic Health Center, it's important for prospective patients to be aware of significant concerns raised by multiple real customers regarding their operational practices and patient interactions.
While the center aims to provide holistic health services, numerous patient testimonials indicate recurring issues that may affect your visit. These concerns primarily revolve around scheduling, wait times, and patient-staff interactions. Understanding these experiences from the perspective of local users can help you make an informed decision about your healthcare choices in California.
---Morales Holistic Health Center is located at 8358 Florence Ave, Downey, CA 90240, USA. Florence Avenue is a well-known thoroughfare in Downey, making the center relatively accessible within the city and from nearby communities in Los Angeles County.
However, despite its physical location being accessible, patient reviews consistently highlight significant issues related to accessibility in terms of time management and patient flow within the clinic itself. Concerns about extensive wait times in the lobby and unattended waiting in treatment rooms suggest that while the physical address is convenient, the actual patient experience might be hampered by internal scheduling and operational challenges.
---Based on public information and general chiropractic practice offerings, Morales Holistic Health Center indicates providing a range of services. It is important to note that the effectiveness of these services is heavily influenced by the patient experience, which is detailed in the "Features / Highlights" section.
- Chiropractic Care: The center provides advanced spinal correction and chiropractic adjustments utilizing what they describe as "state of the art" techniques, aimed at pain relief and improving overall wellness.
- Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation: Management for spinal and joint conditions, pre- and post-surgery care, with specialties in cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, neurologic, orthopedic, podiatry, and wound care.
- Acupuncture: Offered as a complementary therapy with reported benefits including pain relief, reduced inflammation, and activation of physiological responses.
- Massage Therapy: Specific massage and muscular therapy tailored to individual pain conditions or injuries, designed to increase blood circulation, reduce swelling, and relax muscles.
- Yoga: Promotes increased flexibility, muscle tone, improved posture, and contributes to stress reduction and emotional well-being.
- Spinal & Postural Screenings: Available for the community at various events and workplaces, aimed at revealing important health information.
- General Health Evaluations: For purposes such as work, sports participation, driver's licenses, and drug testing, along with nutritional advice.
- Nutritional Advice: Includes dietary coaching and recommendations for supplements and vitamins.
The features and highlights of Morales Holistic Health Center, as reported by real customers, primarily point to significant areas of concern rather than positive attributes. It is crucial for potential patients in California to be aware of these experiences before considering this center.
- Consistent Overbooking and Disrespect for Patient Time: Multiple reviewers, including detailed accounts, describe severe overbooking leading to extremely long wait times (up to an hour or more in the lobby and then unattended in treatment rooms). This is a prevalent issue that causes significant frustration and disruption to patients' schedules.
- Unprofessional and Argumentative Staff: Patients report encountering disrespect, anger, and argumentative behavior from staff members, including a manager. Issues include attempting to charge cancellation fees for appointments that were reportedly canceled in advance due to illness, and staff being uncooperative or making assumptions about patients' activities.
- Unprofessional Conduct from Dr. Carolina Morales: At least one detailed account describes Dr. Carolina Morales as barging in without knocking, becoming argumentative when constructive feedback was offered regarding wait times, making false accusations (e.g., lying about the duration of an argument), and attempting to charge a rescheduling fee despite the patient waiting for nearly an hour.
- Lack of Respect and Honesty: Reviews consistently emphasize a lack of respect, honesty, and kindness from the staff and doctor. Patients feel their time is not valued, and their concerns are not genuinely heard or addressed.
- Inconsistent Communication and Scheduling: Instances are described where receptionists provide misleading information about courtesy calls or push patients to maintain appointments despite illness, leading to misunderstandings and disputes over fees.
- No Accountability or Apologies: Reviewers note a lack of response or apologies from the staff regarding reported issues, suggesting a systemic problem with customer service and conflict resolution.
- High Turnover of Patients Due to Negative Experiences: One reviewer mentions being forced to change chiropractors due to location or insurance, but implies that the negative experience at Morales Holistic Health Center is unique and undesirable.
For individuals in California considering Morales Holistic Health Center, here is their contact information based on public data:
Address: 8358 Florence Ave, Downey, CA 90240, USA
Phone: (562) 622-4444
Mobile Phone: +1 562-622-4444
Given the significant concerns raised in patient reviews, it is strongly recommended that prospective patients thoroughly research and consider these experiences before scheduling an appointment. Direct communication with the center regarding their scheduling and patient management policies might be advisable.
---For locals in Downey and the broader Los Angeles County, the suitability of Morales Holistic Health Center warrants careful consideration based on the experiences shared by previous patients. While the center offers a range of chiropractic and holistic health services, the consistent and severe negative feedback regarding overbooking, extensive wait times, and unprofessional interactions with both staff and Dr. Carolina Morales are critical factors for any potential patient in California.
The emphasis on long wait times, disrespectful communication, and attempts to charge fees for cancellations under questionable circumstances are significant deterrents for individuals seeking reliable and respectful healthcare. In a region where time is valuable and quality of service is expected, these issues present a substantial challenge to a positive patient experience. Patients consistently highlight a desire for honesty, kindness, and respect for their time—qualities that appear to be lacking based on numerous firsthand accounts. Therefore, while the center offers various treatments, its operational practices and reported patient care issues suggest that it may not be the most suitable choice for Californians who prioritize efficient, respectful, and professional service in their healthcare journey.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Really wish I could give ZERO "0" stars to the Downey location. I should have listened to the warnings of two friends that had previously had terrible experiences at Morales Holistic Health Center. Their issues were similar to what I am now seeing has been a similar experience with many other who have shared on Yelp. Who knows how many don't share? The biggest issue is overbooking and no respect for patients time. My mistake for giving benefit of the doubt and taking a chance on Dr Carolina Morales thinking that perhaps they've learned and improved how they run their business. Short answer, THEY HAVE NOT. Don't take my word for it, go on and read the many other similar experiences from other reviewers.Today, I attempted to share constructive feedback and was met with so much disrespect and anger. My 3rd appointment today was at 10:45am. I was called into a room to wait for Dr Carolina Morales at 11:15am (that's 30 min just waiting in lobby). Then, as I waited there in my robe, I flagged down another person who works there and she said Doctor was on the phone so I let her know that I needed to leave and couldn't wait any longer because who knows how long I would need to wait from that point and my last visit was also very long. As I was wrapping up getting dressed, Doctor Carolina Morales barges in without knocking (privacy invasion and very unprofessional). She asked if I was ready for my treatment, and I looked up at her and said "no, I have to leave because I have been waiting for such a long time already." She offered a quick adjustment with my clothes on and I said no. I then, in a calm and professional manner, offered her constructive feedback. I let her know that I sense an overbooking problem and felt it's not respectful towards her patients and she should value others time. She seemed to get upset over me choosing to leave and said that I would be on the hook for a rescheduling fee. So, basically, because she overbooks, keeps you waiting for close to an hour or more, and because you need to run after being left unattended, she feels like she is entitled to a rescheduling fee. I'm sorry, but what about your patients time?! Your patients should be charging you for keeping them hostage for so long! Regardless of any business, if an appointment is made, keep to the schedule. Plain and simple. Not just that, but treat your patients/customers respectfully. In all seriousness, I fought hard to keep my composure with her because she became argumentative and started lying right to my face. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE!In summary, Dr Carolina Morales today KEPT ME waiting from 10:45am - 11:36am. She LIED and said I had been arguing with her for 10 mins when she had only been with me for less than 2 mins. She then ASSUMED I had come to her practice because I must have been dissatisfied with prior chiropractic offices, I assured her the only reason I was there was due to insurance change and her being an in-network doctor closest to me. After all this and keeping me there unattended for 10 mins shy of 1 hour, she had the AUDACITY to request I pay her a rescheduling fee because I needed to leave at that point!!! Insane. Ridiculous. She really needs to be a better listener and listen to what looks like years of bad reviews & feedback from her patients. Her defensiveness, unprofessionalism and attempt to charge fees due to her bad business practice are worthy of being reported to the Better Business Bureau. She was not at all pleasant and turned super rude when I initially approached her in a calm and professional manner. In the end she stated she would not see me again. Does she really think I'd want to go back to her?! I've had back issues my whole life, I've had to go to many different chiropractors due to location changes or insurance changes. Never have I ever been made to wait as long as this office did. Nor have I ever felt so disrespected.Bottomline, If you like to be treated with respect, honesty, kindness and where they value your time, do yourself a favor and don't go to Morales Holistic Health Center.
May 07, 2024 · Annell Del RioStaff is terrible. I feel bad now permanently leaving this place because Caroline took care of my family for many years. But their "manager" Christy, who somehow ranked up from massage therapist, is a terrible person. Reading the other comments it was just as I experienced with her. She wanted to charge me $50 dollar fee for an appointment I previously CALLED to canceled. I called two days before my appt because I was ill. Their other receptionist that I spoke with told me oh we have a treatment for your symptoms. Thought it was great, but I did not want to be treated while being sick. The receptionist insisted I did, but I told her no please move it to Friday. Then she goes on to say, "look I'll give you a call on Tuesday to see how you're doing and if you want to keep the appt." I was like well probably not, but she kept pushing on that she would call me. I said ok fine I'll just tell her Tuesday I won't go, AGAIN. My Tuesday went on, still sick high fevers pretty much in bed all day. I at this point had forgotten the whole thing. I was knocked out when the receptionist decided to call me at 8:02 pm! When I realized she had called me I called her about 10 mins later which they did not answer because they close at 8pm so I was so confused.. like why did she call me so late if she was going to call me earlier. Then I remembered our conversation, but thought no way she's calling me at this hour to ask if I still want it. Next day the manager Christy is calling me to tell me if I was still going to my appt.. I said WHAT!!???? I canceled my appt. She said no you didn't. We have you here for Wednesday at 3. I told her that appt was pending since the receptionist was going to call me, she said oh those are courtesy calls, and she did not have to call you. I said but that's what she told me and I when I did speak with her I was going to again tell her no I would not be going. (If it was a courtesy call that she did not have to make, why did she even bother calling me after working hours?) I went back and forth with her that I was ill and wasn't going to be going. She said well it will be a $50 dollar charge for missing your appt and you won't be seen again unless you pay it, I don't even pay that for my copayment! I said for what if I canceled it due to being sick. She had the audacity to tell me, well I can clearly hear you're out doors and you're telling me you're sick." WHAT!!!!????? What's it to you what I'm doing???? If you must know I did go out since I've been indoors all week. And I had no plans going to the appt since I CANCELED IT!!!!!!(Mind you I called MONDAY…. And it was not to chit chat with the receptionist!!! I to a point felt like the receptionist was forcing me to keep my appt)She's like ok well I'm going to put you down as a no show. In this case she should talk to the receptionist that was playing around and insisting I'd keep my appt. (She said she did, and she had no fault to it) I'm sure she did not tell Caroline the reason why I didn't show. It's very unfortunate to deal with ppl like that. And of course, like all the other comments here, no response or apologies from the staff. I wish I could talk directly to Caroline, but I know the unprofessional staff probably won't transfer me.I was willing to put up with the 1-1:15 hr wait. But this... disappointing. It's the clients fault as always. I have seen another chiro, Joe from Kare in Downey who is amazing, and doesn't take forever to see you, and you don't have to worry about rotten staff.I know the building burned down, but that's no way to get ppl to pay for it.So sorry Caroline, I really really enjoyed your care. When you get rid of your staff I'll come back.
Apr 13, 2024 · Belen QuinteroPlace gets a ZERO. Receptionist has a major chip on her shoulder like the world owes her something. I tried cancelling same day appointment due to Covid and she said she was going to charge me no matter what.
Oct 03, 2024 · Armando CabreraStarted coming here about 2 weeks ago & it’s been great for my back pain.Maria the acupuncturist is great & explains things clearly as she’s working on me & makes me feel really comfortable.Araceli my massage technician is awesome & I appreciate her kindness.I’ll continue to be a patient for sure
Oct 08, 2018 · Caramia R.This place is great. Love the service and everyone is so helpful. They make me feel so much better. My only complaint is that every appointment is always at least 1 hour long. Sometimes longer. There is a lot of waiting but I keep coming because I trust them. I just wish it could be quicker.
