New Leaf Health Introduce
Navigating the healthcare landscape in Dallas, Texas, can be a complex journey, especially when seeking specialized care like functional medicine or chiropractic services. When a Texan is looking for a new provider, they often rely on word-of-mouth and public reviews to make an informed decision. New Leaf Health, led by Dr. Alan Trites, is one such practice that has garnered attention, offering a blend of chiropractic and functional medicine services. However, it's essential for potential patients to understand all aspects of a clinic's reputation and approach before committing to a treatment plan.
Functional medicine is a growing field that aims to address the root causes of disease by looking at the body as a whole system. This approach can be very appealing to individuals with complex health issues who feel they haven't found answers in traditional medicine. New Leaf Health positions itself as a provider of these services, which can be a beacon of hope for many in the Dallas area. However, it's also a field where patient-provider communication and a strong sense of trust are paramount. As local residents, our health decisions are deeply personal, and a provider's professionalism and transparency are key factors in earning that trust.
New Leaf Health is located at 17000 Dallas Pkwy Suite 215, Dallas, TX 75248, USA. The clinic's location on the Dallas Parkway places it in a prime, central position for residents of North Dallas, Plano, Addison, and other surrounding communities. Its accessibility via major highways makes it a convenient option for many people in the sprawling DFW metroplex who are willing to travel for specialized care. The address on a well-known parkway suggests that the clinic is professional and established, which can be an initial draw for potential patients.
The accessibility of a healthcare provider is a significant consideration for any Texan. A centrally located office minimizes travel time and hassle, which is especially important for those who may be dealing with chronic pain or mobility issues. The clinic's location provides a good starting point for individuals seeking care in a professional office setting.
Based on public information and patient experiences, New Leaf Health offers services that fall under the umbrella of both chiropractic and functional medicine. These services are typically aimed at addressing a variety of health concerns by focusing on a holistic view of the body.
Services that may be offered include:
- Functional Medicine Consultations: An approach that seeks to understand the underlying causes of health issues through detailed patient history, lifestyle analysis, and specialized testing.
- Chiropractic Adjustments: The use of manual or instrument-assisted techniques to correct spinal misalignments and improve nervous system function.
- Neurological Testing: Assessments to evaluate nerve function and identify potential issues that could be contributing to symptoms.
- Bloodwork Analysis: The use of comprehensive blood tests, often through labs like Quest Diagnostics, to gain a deeper understanding of a patient's internal health markers.
- Personalized Treatment Plans: Development of individualized plans that may include dietary changes, supplements, and other therapeutic interventions based on test results and patient evaluations.
The combination of these services is designed to provide a comprehensive look at a person's health, which can be particularly appealing for those who feel their concerns have been overlooked by conventional medicine.
A key part of a clinic's reputation is its unique features and the way it operates, as seen through the eyes of its patients. Public feedback often highlights specific aspects that define the patient experience.
Features and highlights, based on available information, include:
- Functional Medicine Approach: The clinic's focus on functional medicine is a significant highlight for individuals seeking a different perspective on their health challenges.
- Initial Comprehensive Evaluations: Patients note that the first visit involves extensive paperwork and a detailed evaluation, followed by neurological tests on a second visit. This thorough process can be a positive feature for those who want a deep dive into their health.
- Digital Presence: Dr. Trites maintains a presence on platforms like YouTube, which can be seen as a way for potential patients to learn more about his philosophy and expertise.
- Professional Office Setting: The location in a professional office building on Dallas Parkway suggests a well-established and serious practice.
- Focus on Testing: A key part of the clinic’s process involves running specific tests, such as blood work through Quest, to inform the treatment plan.
While these features are meant to be a positive aspect of the clinic, patient reviews also raise questions about communication, the patient's role in their own care, and the overall professional environment.
For those in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who wish to contact New Leaf Health, the information is publicly available.

- Dr. Alan Trites, Chiropractic Internist
For more than 15 years, Dr. Alan Trites has effectively helped many patients who are seeking answers for better health. Dr. Trites is different from most chiropractors because of how every individual treatment plan is created. First, he uses a detailed case history that is completed prior to the initial visit. The information gathered ranges from family history, environmental, lifestyle, previous treatments, test results and genetics. He then formulates a series of questions to be asked during the first visit to gain an understanding of your complex case. He combines your information with a physical examination and uses these findings to order or perform other in-office tests and confirmatory tests via neurological, laboratory, and other diagnostic methods.
- Functional Wellness, Healing Your Body Naturally
Our practice is built on the foundation of Functional Wellness—an approach to health that seeks to find and address the root causes of your health problems. Unlike many traditional healthcare practitioners, we don’t just treat symptoms. We investigate what’s going on in your body, and we look for the most effective, safe, and natural ways to address the problems. Instead of masking symptoms with drugs or other treatments, we work to uncover the root causes of your health issues. This is the only way to bring your body back into balance and get you well again.
- Genetic Testing
Testing through functional movement, genetics, and neurological and laboratory tests can unveil disease states missed through traditional chiropractic means and finds pre-disease conditions. Dr. Trites creates individual treatment plans following the first few visits after collecting all the data. Often lifestyle modifications, dietary changes, exercise, and sometimes supplementation is necessary to improve and stabilize a condition. Dr. Trites uses follow-up tests to track your progress and make necessary changes as you progress in your treatment plan.
- Treating the Whole Person
In conventional medicine, there’s a doctor for every part of your body: cardiologists for the heart, gastroenterologists for the digestive system, neurologists for the brain and nervous system, podiatrists for your feet, and ophthalmologists for your eyes. Often times, these specialists don’t ever consider how other areas of the body might be affecting your overall health. But in functional medicine, we see the body as an interconnected whole, within a larger environment. We work closely with you to get a holistic view of your health—a big-picture perspective. By looking for the commonalities and patterns across all systems, we can offer support and interventions that affect multiple pathways, helping you recover your health faster and more completely.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I wish I could give a zero."Dr" Trites was recommended by a friend of mine. Later I found out he really didn't help her much, but that is water under the bridge.I filled out all the paperwork and paid $600.00 for the first visit, which was an hour. Things seemed to go OK.I then came back for a second visit, where he ran some neurological tests on me. The nurse stated, "You did better than I thought you would."After the exam, I was told I would receive the blood tests Dr. Trites wanted to run, based off the exam.Fair enough.I received the email but candidly didn't understand what he was looking for. I also told the Dr and his office manager I had a fresh CBC through my PCP, less than a week earlier. I also told Dr. Trites that my insurance covered LabCorp and not Quest.I set up an appointment with my PCP to go over the bloodwork Dr. Trites wanted to run.He suggested I politely send an email back explaining they were duplicating my CBC and to ask, "What they were looking for."I received an email back from the nurse with grammatical errors, basically telling me "I don't trust doctors" and recommending a Neurologist.Granted, my case is complex. If any of you reading this are looking for a Functional Medicine Dr, you may have minor issues or perhaps more serious issues.I was fired" for asking a question and Dr. Trites took exception to me doing so. He could have been professional but took the easy way out.I asked for a refund. No response. I texted the office manager to kindly call me. No response. I sent a certified letter. No response. He has numerous videos on youtube. I am not sure what "points of contention" you're referring to? If I am telling the truth, there are no "points of contention."2. In no way, shape, or form did I ever intimate I was fired from "dozens of doctors," as you claim. If this were the case, why would I tell a provider I went to in good faith for services, something such as this? So, I will get right to the point and say you're lying.3. As far as the use of quotations in front of Dr. Trites name, I will apologize for this, as I was slightly frustrated with the way I was treated. I have the utmost respect for chiropractors and their extensive training.4. On my first visit, I only asked questions to Dr. Trites and Rachel, within the hour I was allotted for my appointment. We had no problems. The conversation was light and inquisitive.5. "My aggressive, 30-minute questioning" was five minutes, after the neurologic testing was performed. There seemed to be no issues, and there is no way you would have allowed me to stand there and question you for 30 minutes.5. For you to come up with some cockamamie story about feeling unsafe or threatened is ridiculous. If this is the case, why was I emailed the blood work you wanted to run only a few days later? Why was I not discharged immediately? Right on the spot?I have the email from your nurse and none of this was ever mentioned. If you felt "intimidated" and "unsafe," perhaps you might look into those feelings with a competent medical professional.6. I understood your pricing. If your policy is, "Do not ask questions" or you will be discharged," this should be communicated clearly and concisely.I never received comprehensive medical ANYTHING from New Leaf.I have asked for a refund. I sent a certified letter (no response) and texted the office manager 3 times after discharge to get an explanation. Thanks for your well wishes. I have already found another functional medicine doctor who is happy to answer any questions I may have regarding testing.Respectfully Submitted,Scott.M.Eranger

Nov 25, 2024 · Scott ErangerPrior to beginning my treatment with Dr. Trites I had 9 different specialists who, while they worked hard at my issues, could not solve several key health problems I faced. I found Dr. Trites through a friend—her friend was seeing him. The first thing that impressed me was he cared about my entire health history & medical records. He listened to it all! I’d been begging my ENT and GI and OBGYN to look at how my issues overlapped and they only stuck to their narrow fields. Dr. Trites utilizes blood work and muscle testing to fully understand what’s going on in the body and then creates treatment plans. He easily pivots if a treatment isn’t returning results. I saw such huge improvements in my health I began taking my toddler to him. We’re approaching a year under Dr. Trites’s care and I feel the best I have in decades. (I’m also no longer seeing 9 specialists).Issues for treatment: Endometriosis, hypothyroidism, dysglycemia, infertility, sympathetic dominance.

Dec 01, 2023 · Emily AtkinsDr Trites has been an amazing help. I have worked with other great Dr's in the past, but seemed to hit a point where I couldn't get past the issues I was having. Within 2 months of seeing Dr Trites I felt better and have improved my health and energy levels since. If you have ever been debilitated with illness, you understand how significant a full recovery is to your way life. He is constantly learning and applying knowledge to his practice. I appreciate this because the most discouraging thing to hear from a Dr is "I can't help you." After 3 years of working with Dr Trites, I can whole heartedly recommend him. If you have the desire to find answers and the discipline to work at your health alongside a cutting edge Dr, give him a call.

Jan 20, 2022 · Mike BartmanI started seeing Dr. Trites a little over three years ago. When I first saw him, I was having severe problems with IBS and had been to several doctors over the years with little to no improvement. It affected my life on a daily basis and made traveling, working or even going to dinner with family or friends almost impossible. He was able to help me regain my gut health and also to keep me in check on other health issues as they happen. I would highly recommend Dr. Trites to anyone needing answers for tricky health issues and also for maintaining good health on a regular basis.
