Based on patient feedback, Dr. Irene M. Ryan Chiropractor offers a distinctive approach to chiropractic care that goes beyond traditional adjustments, incorporating elements aimed at comprehensive well-being. While a full list of services is best confirmed directly with the practice, here's what can be inferred from available information:
Brain-Based Chiropractic Care: This is a unique highlight, suggesting an approach that considers the profound connection between the brain, nervous system, and overall body function. It likely involves techniques and assessments aimed at optimizing neurological pathways to improve physical health and reduce pain. This differs from solely focusing on spinal mechanics.
Gentle Chiropractic Adjustments: Patient feedback indicates that the adjustments are described as "gentle yet highly effective." This suggests a careful and precise approach to spinal manipulation, which can be reassuring for those who may be hesitant about traditional chiropractic methods. These adjustments would aim to restore proper joint movement, reduce nerve irritation, and alleviate discomfort in the spine and other areas.
Stress Relief Integration: The incorporation of "stress relief" into her approach points to a holistic understanding of health. This might involve techniques or advice aimed at reducing the physical manifestations of stress, which can significantly impact muscle tension, pain levels, and overall well-being.
Pain Alleviation: A primary goal, as evidenced by a patient who was "barely able to walk without being in pain" before treatment, is to provide effective relief from chronic and acute pain, including back pain and potentially other musculoskeletal discomforts.
Personalized Patient Care: The feedback about Dr. Ryan truly caring about her patients and their lives, and being easy to talk to, suggests a highly personalized approach. This means she likely takes the time to understand each patient's individual needs, concerns, and health history to tailor treatment plans.
Wellness-Oriented Approach: Beyond addressing specific symptoms, the overall philosophy seems geared towards promoting broader wellness, potentially helping patients achieve a higher state of health and improve their quality of life.
Discussion of Auxiliary Therapies (e.g., BrainTap): One review indicates that Dr. Ryan "pushes BrainTap really hard." While patient opinions on such auxiliary therapies may vary, this suggests the practice may incorporate or recommend technologies or practices that complement chiropractic adjustments, potentially aiming to enhance mental clarity, relaxation, or cognitive function, aligned with the brain-based approach.
Based on the provided customer reviews, Dr. Irene M. Ryan Chiropractor presents a practice with distinct features and highlights, though it's important to consider both positive and negative feedback for a complete picture:
Unique Brain-Based Approach: A significant highlight is Dr. Ryan's "brain-based" approach to chiropractic care. This suggests an innovative and potentially more comprehensive method that integrates neurological principles with traditional adjustments, appealing to those seeking a deeper understanding of their health issues.
Gentle Yet Highly Effective Adjustments: Patients praise her adjustments as "gentle yet highly effective," which is a considerable positive for individuals who may prefer less forceful techniques while still desiring significant results, like being able to walk without pain.
Holistic Focus Including Stress Relief: The incorporation of "stress relief" into her care plan indicates a more holistic view of patient well-being, acknowledging the impact of stress on physical health.
Deep Patient Care and Empathy: Positive feedback highlights that Dr. Ryan "truly cares about her patients and their lives" and is "easy to talk to," fostering a welcoming and supportive environment where patients feel heard and valued.
Potential for Significant Pain Relief: One patient's remarkable transformation from being "barely able to walk without being in pain" to improved mobility underscores the potential for profound positive outcomes for individuals suffering from severe discomfort.
Use of Complementary Therapies (e.g., BrainTap): While subject to varied patient reception, the mention of BrainTap suggests an openness to integrating complementary tools or technologies that align with her brain-based philosophy, potentially offering additional avenues for patient wellness.
It is also important to acknowledge that some reviews indicate areas where experiences may vary:
Masking Policy Concerns: Some patients have expressed discomfort regarding the clinic's masking policy, noting that neither Dr. Ryan nor her staff were masked, and patient masking decisions seemed to be met with offense. This is a crucial consideration for individuals prioritizing specific health safety protocols.
BrainTap Promotion: The perceived "hard push" for BrainTap, without prior inquiry into a patient's existing mindfulness practices, suggests a sales-oriented approach that some patients may find off-putting or unnecessary.
Professionalism and Patient Interaction: One review cited concerns about Dr. Ryan's professionalism, including stepping out during clothing removal, discussing other patients' language barriers, and making unsolicited political references. Such feedback points to areas where patient comfort and boundaries might be impacted.
Varied Immediate Results: One patient noted their back pain worsened in the 24 hours post-initial appointment, suggesting that immediate results can vary or that the initial adjustment might lead to temporary discomfort for some.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr. Ryan is the best! Her approach to chiropractic care is different than I've experienced before. It's brain based, incorporates stress relief, and is gentle yet highly effective. I was barely able to walk without being in pain before I went to her and she worked her magic! Dr. Ryan truly cares about her patients and their lives, is easy to talk to, and makes me feel more than welcome in her office.
Feb 24, 2022 · Samantha McGinnThe reviews here seem unreasonably skewed based on my experience. I normally would have given a 2-3 star rating, but overall average is way too high and needs to be brought down.As others have mentioned, neither Dr. Ryan nor her front desk staff were wearing masks during my visit, and both seemed offended by my decision to mask. She pushes BrainTap really hard, which based on my research is just a fancy “cheat your way into meditation” shortcut for people without a current practice. Dr. Ryan did not ask if I had a current meditation or mindfulness practice. My back pain also got worse in the 24 hours after my initial appointment, without me doing anything else that would have aggravated it.Additionally, Dr. Ryan needs to work on her professionalism with new patients. Ex. Stepping out of the room when asking a patient to remove clothing, not discussing frustration with other patients speaking English as a second language, not making random political references when discussing a patient’s injury history, &c. Overall, not a fit for what I was looking for in chiropractic care.
Aug 13, 2022 · Christina SwanI came to Dr. Ryan as referral for my chronic illness. In the hour I spent with her she tried to sell me gadgets made by her friends. She could not explain anything that she was doing nor why it would help me. DO NOT GO TO HER SHE IS A FRAUD. I was given a "test" for my stress that she wouldn't even show me results for. She charged me $200 in cash and then without asking after charged my insurance $350 all for an initial apt where she did not even adjust me. I do not understand how she has a license and will be reporting her
Mar 18, 2023 · Nat DiFrankI have been going to see Dr. Irene Ryan for many years. She helps me to keep my alignment as I work with patients in rehabilitation. My immune system is strong, she aligns my spine and uses acupressure to stimulate wellness. Cold laser treatments have healed my knees to allow full squatting without holding onto furniture. She is a godsend and angel. She is funny and personable. I have recommended her to family and friends.
Mar 01, 2018 · Alison EI have been to several chiropractors. This is a totally different chiropractic experience! Brain-based treatment is far superior in my opinion! It is a very gentle technique with very powerful affects.
