Manhattan Sports Medicine Introduce
Living in New York City often means embracing a dynamic and active lifestyle, whether it's pounding the pavement, hitting the gym, or simply navigating the bustling streets. While this energy is exhilarating, it can also lead to aches, pains, and injuries that interrupt our daily routines and passion for staying active. When discomfort strikes, or an injury sidelines you, finding a trusted, effective healthcare provider is paramount. This is where a specialized practice like Manhattan Sports Medicine steps in, offering a comprehensive approach to chiropractic care and recovery that is perfectly tailored to the needs of active New Yorkers.
A chiropractor is a healthcare professional focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders, primarily those affecting the spine. The core of chiropractic philosophy centers on the idea that proper alignment of the body's musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine, enables the body to heal itself naturally. However, a modern sports medicine practice, like Manhattan Sports Medicine, takes this a step further by integrating chiropractic care with other therapeutic modalities. This holistic approach recognizes that optimal recovery, especially for athletes and active individuals, often requires more than just spinal adjustments. It involves addressing soft tissue issues, muscular imbalances, and overall body mechanics to not only alleviate pain but also to prevent future injuries and enhance performance. For New Yorkers who are serious about their physical well-being, understanding this integrated approach is key to finding effective and lasting relief.
Manhattan Sports Medicine has established itself as a premier destination for chiropractic care and physical recovery in New York City, earning glowing endorsements from its clientele. The practice is renowned for its comprehensive approach and a team that genuinely cares about patient well-being. At the heart of their success are practitioners like Dr. Han and Dr. Harrison, both lauded by patients for their expertise and dedication. Dr. Han is specifically highlighted for his thorough evaluation process and ability to effectively treat conditions like neck and back pain, often linked to stress-related tightness, ensuring patients feel understood and cared for from their initial consult. Dr. Harrison is praised for his remarkable ability to get patients "back into marathon shape" after challenging injuries, demonstrating a profound understanding of athletic recovery. Beyond the doctors, the entire team, including Anthony, an "amazing masseuse" who provides instant relief for tight muscles, and Angela at the front desk, described as "accommodating, efficient, and sweet," contributes to an outstanding patient experience. This collective dedication to patient care, from seamless scheduling to effective treatment, truly makes Manhattan Sports Medicine "the best Chiropractor practice in town" for New Yorkers seeking top-tier musculoskeletal health solutions.

- Neck Pain Treatment
Neck pain can result from disorders of any of the structures in the neck, including the cervical vertebrae and intervertebral discs, nerves and muscles. Neck pain arises from numerous different conditions and is sometimes referred to as cervical pain.
- Ruptured Disk Treatment
Normally, disks act as shock absorbers cushioning your vertebrae from each other as you move. A herniated disk is a disk that has bulged out from its proper place and no longer cushions the vertebrae, causing pain and loss of motion.
- Active Release Technique (ART)
- Spinal Decompression Therapy
- Whiplash
A strain of the neck or the muscles around the cervical spine is often called whiplash. Such a strain injury occurs when there is sudden extension and flexion of the neck.
- Cervical Spinal Stenosis Treatment
With age, injury, poor posture or diseases like arthritis, there can be damage to the bone or joints of the cervical spine.
- Discogenic Neck Pain Treatment
Cervical disc pain is a common form of neck pain, caused by protrusion of one or more of the discs in the neck towards the spinal cord or nerve roots. Cervical disc herniations can also cause shoulder or arm pain, along with neurological symptoms such as arm or leg weakness or sensory problems.
- Headache
Headaches have a variety of causes. Spinal problems, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems, migraines and muscular injuries are among them. A few are described here.
- TMJ Syndrome
Every time we talk, chew, bite down, or swallow we put the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) to work. With excessive force, overuse or misalignment, TMJ Syndrome starts causing pain in the muscles and joints of the jaw. This pain may radiate to the face, neck, head and even to the shoulders.
- Lumbar Muscle Strain
A low back strain, often called a lumbar strain, is an injury to the large muscles in the low back. These injuries are very common, affecting most everyone at some point in their life. Low back strains can be painful and debilitating.
- Discogenic Back Pain Treatment
Lumbar disc pain is a common cause of low back pain. Discogenic back pain can be difficult to diagnose, and treatment can be difficult as well. Diagnosis of discogenic back pain may require the use of a discogram.

- Sciatica Treatment
Sciatica is caused by irritation around the sciatic nerve. This causes pain around the hip and thigh region. Treatments for sciatica aim to reduce the irritation of the nerve.
- Herniated Disc Treatment
Normally, disks act as shock absorbers cushioning your vertebrae from each other as you move. A herniated disk is a disk that has bulged out from its proper place and no longer cushions the vertebrae, causing pain and loss of motion.
- Lumbar Spinal Stenosis Treatment
Facet joints tend to get larger as they degenerate. Unfortunately, as the joint enlarges, it can place pressure on the nerves as they exit the spine, causing discomfort and loss of mobility.
- Lumbar Sprain / Strain
Pain of the lower back can also be caused by sprain or strain of the muscles of the back. This injury can be due to sports mishaps, improper or excessively heavy lifting and so on.
- Hip Pain Treatment
Hip pain is a common complaint that has many causes. Determining what is the cause of your symptoms may be straightforward, or it may require special tests to make a diagnosis. Once the cause of your hip pain has been determined, appropriate treatment can begin.
- Arthritis
Arthritis is among the most frequent causes of hip pain, and there are many treatments available. If conservative treatments fail, hip replacement surgery is also an option.
- Trochanteric Bursitis Treatment
Trochanteric bursitis is an extremely common problem that causes inflammation of the fluid sac cushioning the outside of the hip joint.
- Hip Pointer Treatment
The diagnosis of a hip pointer means that there is a bone bruise, or possibly a fracture, of the pelvis. This injury is usually caused by a football tackle.
- Snapping Hip Syndrome
Snapping hip syndrome is an unusual cause of hip pain but can be quite bothersome. There are several causes of a snapping hip, and the precise treatment in a given case will depend upon which cause is in play.
- Sacroiliac Joint Syndrome
Inflammation of the sacroiliac joint (SI joint) can be a difficult problem to diagnose. However, once treatment for SI joint inflammation begins, the problem of pain from the SI joint usually resolves with physical therapy treatment.
- Iliotibial Band Syndrome
Symptoms of Iliotibial band syndrome (ITBS) include pain or aching on the outer side of the knee and hip. This is caused by injury to iliotibial band.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The best Chiropractor practice in town.Starting from Angela at the front desk who will make the whole scheduling process so easy, she is very accommodating, efficient and sweet.Following with Anthony an amazing masseuse, he worked on all my tight points of my back and neck. Felt so much better instantly. Finally Dr Han, he is treating me for my neck and back work and stress related tightness. He is the best of the best. Since the initial consult, he took his time to evaluate me and understand my concerns.Definitely recommend coming here.
Nov 14, 2024 · Jelissa InoaGreat experience with Manhattan Sports Medicine. Dr. Harrison got me back into marathon shape after a knee injury, and Miss Angela at the front desk is always gracious and super easy to work with. I’ve also been here for chiropractic after a different back injury, and had a similarly good experience. Definitely my go-to practice to stay running!
Nov 24, 2024 · Jacob RothschildI Just started seeing Dr. Han at Manhattan Sports Medicine ( 2 visits ) for a flair up injury with my SI joint. I was highly recommended to this practice through a friend. The choice to partner chiropractic care with my PT & Trainer has been extremely helpful in my healing process and I’m so thankful. Within my first visit Dr. Han helped decompress my spine, relieving pressure in my lower back and I left pain free. I’ve been a life time believer in chiropractic care, and just now have the opportunity to return. I’m very happy with this choice. As a New Yorker that walks 10k+ steps a day, this has made a huge difference.
Oct 28, 2024 · Shelley MitchellI injured my back, slipped disc in my lumbar spine, and MSM was recommend by a friend. Thank God I found this place. Ashley and Angela in the front are so warm and welcoming and helped figure out everything with my insurance. Angela is an absolute scheduling wizard, being able to stack 4 back-to-back appointments nearly every week for me!I received phenomenal trigger point massage therapy from Anthony, intuitive and holistic acupuncture from Monique…all spearheaded by Dr. Hahn. Dr. Hahn did a thorough analysis on day one, set up a realistic and holistic treatment plan, and I can say that my back has returned to nearly 100% pre-injury movement ability! His bedside manner is unmatched in my experience with NYC physicians. He listens without being dismissive, literally finds every specific causal factor for my back pain, and employs several mechanical and physical techniques for treatment. They are always on time, and bill correctly without any issues! If you have any injuries, I cannot recommend this facility and these specific clinicians more! Check em out!
Nov 04, 2024 · Johnny Lee StewartGot my first massage from Anthony, and I'll tell you this he is Amazing!!. I should've gotten a massage when i first got there...smh.
