The public data available for Atlas Chiropractic of Raleigh presents a mixed picture. On one hand, there are glowing reviews from patients who have had life-changing experiences. One patient with a cEDS diagnosis, a complex and challenging condition, credits Dr. Hill with providing "immediate relief" and a gentle adjustment technique that "actually holds." This patient found the team—including Danielle and Patty—to be "professional but very knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming," and felt "well-informed and genuinely cared for." On the other hand, there is a deeply concerning review from a patient who experienced a series of negative events, including worsening symptoms, communication breakdowns, and a lack of support from the practice after an adjustment. This patient's experience culminated in severe neurological symptoms and a complete deterioration of their condition. These divergent accounts underscore the importance of a thorough and factual presentation of all available information to help potential patients make a decision that is best for their well-being.

Based on the public data, Atlas Chiropractic of Raleigh specializes in specific, highly focused services related to chiropractic care.
Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care: The name of the practice, "Atlas Chiropractic," suggests a primary focus on the upper cervical spine, specifically the atlas bone (C1). This type of chiropractic care is known for its precision and gentle approach, aiming to correct misalignments that can have a significant impact on the nervous system and overall body function.
Specialized Adjustments: A positive review highlights Dr. Hill's ability to adjust a patient with a complex condition like cEDS (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome), indicating expertise in adapting techniques for unique patient needs. This suggests a practice that is not one-size-fits-all but is instead tailored to individual diagnoses.
Patient Education: The positive review mentions that Dr. Hill is "transparent about what to expect" after an adjustment. This suggests a commitment to patient education, which is a crucial part of building trust and ensuring patients feel informed about their care and recovery process.
Standard Chiropractic Services: While the reviews focus on specific techniques, it can be inferred that the practice also offers standard chiropractic services for common issues like back pain, neck pain, and headaches, all centered on their specialized upper cervical approach.
The features and highlights of Atlas Chiropractic of Raleigh are complex, drawing from the widely varying experiences of its patients. It's important to present these aspects in a factual manner to help locals make an informed decision.
Expertise with Complex Conditions: A major highlight is the practice’s ability to provide effective, immediate relief for patients with complicated diagnoses like cEDS. This demonstrates a high level of specialized knowledge that sets them apart.
Professional and Welcoming Team: The positive review praises Dr. Hill, Danielle, and Patty for being "knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming," creating an environment where patients feel genuinely cared for and comfortable.
Focus on Patient Communication: Dr. Hill's transparency and willingness to explain the post-adjustment experience is a key highlight that builds patient confidence and trust.
Concerning Patient Experience: It is crucial to acknowledge the negative feedback. The review detailing worsening pain, a lack of communication, and a failure to address serious post-treatment symptoms is a significant concern. This experience suggests potential issues with patient management and post-care support, which are vital for a healthcare provider.
Inconsistent Outcomes: The highly contradictory nature of the reviews—one speaking of immediate relief and genuine care, and the other of immediate pain and a lack of care—is a notable feature. This inconsistency suggests that the patient experience may vary significantly.

For patients with specific needs, Dr. Hill's expertise in specialized adjustments could be a major benefit. This makes the practice a potentially suitable choice for those who have not found success with more general chiropractic care.
On the other hand, the detailed negative review raises serious questions about patient communication, post-treatment support, and overall safety. This account is a critical part of the public record and should be considered carefully by any potential patient who values their well-being. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr. Hill, Danielle, and Patty are not only professional but very knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. I’ve seen a handful of chiropractors in the past but usually left feeling worse than when I walked in. Dr. Hill is the only one who’s been able to provide me with immediate relief. I have a cEDS diagnosis, and she really understands how to adjust me in a way that actually holds without leaving me in a ton of pain afterward. I also really appreciate how transparent she is about what to expect in the days following an adjustment. I always feel well-informed and genuinely cared for by this entire Atlas team. Highly recommend a visit here!
Jun 18, 2025 · Cathy DaltonI had a deeply concerning experience at Atlas Chiropractor in Raleigh, NC, and I strongly advise against visiting this practice. My initial neck adjustment caused immediate pain and pinching, which the chiropractor dismissed. Two days later, during a follow-up, I reported persistent pain and sleep issues, but the chiropractor again downplayed my concerns, checked my atlas, claimed it was intact, and proceeded to adjust my back. That night, I became severely ill—vomiting, with fever and chills. When I called the next morning, the secretary promised a call from the doctor, but only the secretary called back, and the chiropractor refused to speak with me or my wife. Three days later, after leaving a voicemail about worsening pain, I received an email from the secretary blaming my atlas for "coming out," despite the pain starting with the initial adjustment. My condition deteriorated further, with my arms and legs going completely numb, requiring assistance to move. I’ve never experienced full numbness before, and now I’m facing a six-month wait for an urgent neurological appointment. This practice made my health significantly worse, and I cannot recommend it to anyone who values their well-being.
Jun 09, 2025 · Jeremy RobersonDr. Kayla Hill is the first practitioner to truly take a holistic approach to my care and make an impact after the first visit. I wholeheartedly recommend this practice to everyone, especially those who have dealt with chronic back and neck pain and haven’t been able to find lasting solutions. Dr. Hill is a stellar diagnostician, communicator, and empath, and the atlas approach Is evidence based and can provide immediate relief. She’s provided a solution to my pain that I never thought I’d find and I am eternally grateful.
Dec 14, 2024 · Jennifer ResnickDr Bocella and his staff are very kind, supportive and helpful. They took time with me, actually listened to me and didn’t rush me during the appointment. Things were explained in a way I could understand and he explained the treatment process we’d be doing as well. I was given a referral by my Neuro optometrist to see Dr Bocella & I’m glad they told me about him.He not only was there to help with my neck pain, but also understood my light sensitivity & balance issues and was very thoughtful about my situation.
Jun 25, 2024 · Peg ByrdI have been seeing Dr. Chad for several months now. I have to admit I was skeptical after the first visit; but, I have become a believer over the course of my treatment. I went from having stabbing, incapacitating pain in my upper back to having practically none. He has a wonderful way of putting you at ease and explaining every procedure. The sessions are painless, and the results are priceless. The entire office is a warm and welcoming environment. Jennifer, at the front desk, worked diligently with me to work out the insurance details and always is a delight to talk with. I have definitely found my Chiropractic home. I would highly recommend Atlas Chiropractic to anyone...you won't be disappointed.
